Currently love is mostly defined as an intense feeling of desire, affection, and enjoyment. and not a movement. When looking up the definition of love as to how it is demonstrated. At Race For What we see love as an action.
Love (as a verb) is the action of tending to someone or something to make it better and not worse. To address a need and then enact change. Love is a change agent. It is a guiding value on our journey. It begins with realizing and appreciating the connection to the oneness that is the creativity of life.
Love consists of qualities such as patience, kindness and it is rooted in truth. Those qualities that are taught to us in all of our spiritual teachings no matter the religion or other formal teaching practices.
We define showing love as sharing, supporting, and serving one another in ways that are best for each other. Because love guides us on our journey, we should consider that what we think is best may not always be what is better for ourselves, for others, or for the planet. We must be willing to question our way of thinking and, if necessary, do the research and be willing to change if we find a better way.
Showing love takes many forms depending on situational context. Love can be shown by protecting each other from negative thoughts, words, and actions, that lead to harm; Providing feedback for improvement; And supporting positive thoughts, words and actions and with reinforcement, appreciation and servitude. It is consideration and empathy for all forms of life as we interact.
We know that this world was created and developed for thousands of years. While we have had some great advances in technology that could easily improve the quality of our lives, we also face many issues socially and economically, and spiritually (or energetically for those who question what spirit means to them). So many of our political leaders are being questioned and even exposed for lying or harming us for their own gain.
We are bombarded with information much of which is untrue or partially true to deceive. With so much coming at us it can feel daunting leaving us believing like we can’t do anything about it. Our education and political structures are failing to uplift and connect us. Our leaders and companies are advertising to us to get us to support them and they are not supporting us.
Add to that, the financial obstacles that cause us stress. Weapons and drugs (legal and illegal) are rampant. We are responding with punishment and not enough prevention. Then when we want to be entertained or find information from the media, we are bombarded with negativity. If you take a moment to breathe and look at how our culture developed, we can imagine if not see clearly how we got here.
Often what is lacking is a love of life, each other, and the planet. At Race For What are asking you, challenging you if you may, to look at your life and ask yourself “where can I show love more?” We want more of us to seek understanding as we respond to our environment.
Whether you see life and the universe as God(s), the creator, or simply as the universe, that force of life that connects us all and the planet that provides us always shows us love. Let us do the same. We are all creators, individually and collectively, and as a world if we desire more peace and comfort. It is time to show love to one another and build momentum towards the type of world that improves the quality of life for us all.
