…Prestige does not equate to absolute value or inherent importance. What is deemed worthy of admiration is actually based on the perception of what is valuable. We found that the Latin and French origin of the word perception is an illusion or a conjuring trick. So, if colonizers mainly controlled the perception of what is important in our global society, then prestige was indeed a magical concept, rooted in trickery.
