CNN’s Drew Griffin suggests the real criminal offense in the Breonna Taylor scenario was the events that led Louisville law enforcement to Taylor’s home and mentioned the police operate that led to the warrant was “really sloppy.”
A previous police officer was indicted only on initial-degree wanton endangerment rates for his actions on the night Breonna Taylor was killed by law enforcement.
Two other officers who also fired shots for the duration of the botched March raid were being not indicted, this means no officer was charged with killing the 26-year-old Black EMT and aspiring nurse. Following the final decision was declared, customers of the Kentucky National Guard and point out law enforcement were activated as protesters took to the streets and some clashes erupted with officers in riot gear.
The long-awaited grand jury prices towards the former officer, Brett Hankison, ended up instantly criticized as insufficient by demonstrators and activists. They had demanded a lot more serious felony counts and the arrests of the three officers at Taylor’s apartment when she was killed.
